Our Executive Leadership
FluTrends’ executive leadership brings together a team of professionals with years of accomplishments in diverse fields. Our founder, Dr. Steven W. Schwartz, M.D., FAAFP, both a family physician and founder of a successful healthcare IT company, leads the FluTrends management team, advisory board, and consultants, including experts in healthcare, patient safety, pharmaceuticals, and business management.
Dr. Steven W. Schwartz, M.D., FAAFP, Founder, Chairman and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Steven W. Schwartz, M.D., FAAFP, is uniquely qualified to lead FluTrends International due to his decades of experience as a family physician, Chemistry degree specializing in Biological Chemistry, as well as the experience of founding and running a healthcare IT company. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University and attended Duke University School of Medicine. For more than twenty years, Dr. Schwartz was a practicing family physician and went on to found UniTrends, a company specializing in IT services for the healthcare industry. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
Bradley Schwartz, Acting President and CEO, FluTrends International
With more than 30 years of experience in consulting and technology integration, Mr. Schwartz brings to FluTrends his expertise in helming the operations of large and small businesses. As the COO of a $3.5B consulting and integration company with operations in 39 countries, he also oversaw the Health Care consulting unit. In addition, he has served as Managing Partner for KPMG Consulting’s Information Communications and Electronics business, and as CEO/President of several small businesses. At present, he is a Board Member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Caretek, LLC and the Managing Partner of Blue Canopy. Mr. Schwartz holds two engineering degrees from Duke University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Christopher Nelson, CFO, FluTrends International
Mr. Nelson has more than two decades of accomplishments in founding and developing successful companies in the Internet and information technology industries. He brings to FluTrends the experience of building a substantial business from the early stages, as well as his expertise in multi-round capital raises and the implementation of quality and compliance systems. Most recently, he founded and developed a company specializing in consumer sales of mobile content using web and viral marketing. Mr. Nelson has also served as CFO of a NASDAQ-listed, publicly traded corporation, where he oversaw the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. He has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the Wharton School.
Dr. Lauren Costantini, PhD, Regulatory Compliance and Product Development Consultant
Dr. Costantini’s career spans more than 15 years in pharmaceuticals development. She leads pre-clinical, clinical and regulatory development for drugs, Medical Foods, devices and supplements through successful launch and commercialization, playing a key role in licensing, patenting and due-diligence. Prior to joining FluTrends International, she held the position of Vice President, Research & Development at Sierra Neuropharmaceuticals, focusing on intracerebral delivery of epilepsy medications. She also served as Vice President of Clinical Development at Accera Inc., leading clinical trials on Alzheimer’s Disease medication, and developed novel treatments for CNS disorders as director of Product Development at Titan Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Costantini was on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, where she investigated mechanisms and treatments for neurodegeneration. She is currently on the board of several companies, scientific journals and grant foundations, including the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease, in addition to regularly presenting at scientific conferences.
